New Scans

The results of my recent MRI's are in. I will give a brief overview.

The MRI scans covered the entire neurological system - my brain, cervical, thoracic and lumbar spinal column. The thin layers of cancer in the brain and cervical spine have remained the same. The lumbar spine (bottom of your back) also showed many small nodules spread throughout that area - but no increase in the size of these from the last scans. PTL.

The thoracic (middle of your back) is the main issue now. There is scarring tissue from my last surgery that is causing a buckling of the spinal cord at thoracic vertebra T10. There is also a nodule of cancer at thoracic vertebra T12 that is pinching the spinal cord. These two areas will have to be dealt with. The only way to deal with the scar tissue and buckling is with spinal surgery - my neurosurgeon said that he could also remove as much of the nodule that has grown as well. But, he warned of possible nuero-deficits from these surgeries and left it up to me as to the date. In other words, I could stick it out for a while but it will have to be done. Of course, if I notice any more increases in pain, numbness, weakness - I should have the surgery as soon as possible.

I am praying over the decision of 'when to pull the trigger' on this - you can join me in praying for wisdom.
